Some friends and I took a ride today to Highview Hill park in Ohio County KY. I thought I would give a review. The park has a boat ramp on the Green River and some very primative bathroom facilities. This place has some very technical hill climbs, but they can all be avoided by taking other trails. There are some very nice views of rock cliffs and hardwood vallys from the trails too. One thing I will say about this place is the mud holes will fool you! I got stuck several times in holes no bigger than my grizzly that looked unassuming until you got in them. Our ride was cut short because of of the 4 wheelers in our group broke down, but it was a very fun ride.

There is no charge for riding at this park.

Thanks for the review Bowhunter. Sounds like a decent park to ride and no charge, thats a shocker.

I couldn't figure out how to copy the google maps link, so here are some basic directions.

Going south on 231 in Beaver Dam KY go past where the Western KY parkway crosses over 231.

Follow 231 about a mile until you reach HWY 269 on the right.

Turn right onto Hwy 269.

Follow 269 to Barnes Lane. (It should be the 4Th road on the right.)

Follow barnes lane until it "Y's" and take the "Y" to the left into the gravel parking lot.

You will see a concrete block bathroom house covered in graffiti, and the highview park trail sign is in the woods to the right.

Hope this makes it somewhat clear on how to get there.

If you are up for a short hike, take the main trail into the woods, past the small water hole, and keep veering to the right. That path will take you around the side of a big hill with some rock cliffs and out-croppings. There are some very nice views from that trail of the hardwoods and steep ravines.

hey Xi?

would this place be worth going to on dirt bikes? about how big? i think i used to go riding around there when i was younger but thought they closed it down. not sure if it's the same place. is it private property? i don't want to trespass and get ran off or worse by an angry landowner.
