I am thinking I want to make this ride this year!
They always stop in Corydon, IN for the night, So I would think this is the best place to link up.

I personally do not want to make the ride with the group, but right behind them would be my best bet!
This is Memorial day weekend.
There is a lot of things to see at our Nations Capitol. Vietnam Wall, Korean Memorial, WWII Memorial, Air/Space Museum, Washington Monument, Reflection Pool, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Building, Smithsonian, Arlington, White House, and a ton of other goodies!

I am wanting to ride this year to it on the Bikes. Once there get a hotel room and just enjoy the weekend, and possibly ride in the parade.
The parade starts in the Pentagon Parking lot, crosses the river, and circles the MALL (grassy area).

Is anyone interested? The more that go the cheaper we can get the hotel room or rooms. Fuel costs should not be that much.

I am just trying to get this started, so I have no idea what the cost might be or an actual date as of now when they hit Corydon, IN

After more looking I see they Hit Corydon, IN on a Tuesday
Rolling Thunder is not until 30 May that Sunday

I am guessing that Tuesday would be a bit early for a few, but we can work out later when to leave.

I can't think of a better way to spend Memorial Day. It's something you'd remember for a lifetime. I'll go, if you'll have me?

I have already HAD you, but I would be tickled to have the company of a hard working american like yourself at my side as the breeze flows through our hair on our way to the Nations Capitol with our brothers in arms!

OK who else is interested???? All you 2 wheelers lets get out there and run for the wall!!! You know with a great American like Bushyhog there will be fun had by all!! It will be over a weekend so you might not have to take anytime off of work. And let me say that D.C. is a great place to visit!! Heck I might even call YOBAMA and see if we can stay in White House.

Draft #1 All interstate riding from Corydon, IN to Washington, DC
Friday 28 May....Leave Corydon around 9:00am....Ride to Morgantown, WV (6 1/2 hrs...426 Miles) Spend the night in a hotel
Saturday 29 May..Leave Morgantown around 10:00am after breakfast ride to Washington, DC (3 1/2 hrs...200 Miles) Get settled into a hotel for 2 nights.
Sunday 30 May....Pentagon Parking lot at 8:00am for the parade if we do the parade.
Monday 31 May (Memorial Day) ride back to Corydon, IN or make it a 2 day trip and finish the ride on Tuesday.

The rooms along the way will be about $75/night for 2 people...might get a roll away also and fit 3 in a room
The rooms in DC will be about $100/night for 2 or 3 people
Hotel Total is $350

Gas will be about $10 every 200 miles so the total would be $75/round trip and an extra $25 for cruisin` town

Food at $40/person a day...so total is $160

Then whatever you want to buy is on you.
So grand total is $610 for 1 person.....$435 for 2 people.....$376 for 3 people

All these numbers are estimated a little high so there would be no suprises. I looked up rooms and a Holiday in Express that is about 20 miles away is only $69 a night. I think we could do it for less. This all includes a hotel MOnday night also so if we rode home Monday that would cut that out.

Well that was GREAT!!

Just under 1800 miles. We rode in Rolling Thunder the parade! We seen all kinds of cool stuff.
After we left DC we rode up to Gettysburg and seen the battle fields.

Wow what a ride!

God Bless America!
