Kate Asbury - Secretary
Happy 2008, LCTR! I am Kate Asbury, aka GrizzlyGrl, your newly-elected Secretary for 2008.
I am originally from St. Philips, IN, but had a 10 year pit-stop in Boonville, IN beginning my freshman year of high school until 2004 (don’t hold that against me—however, BoonVegas is where I really fell in love with any type of off-roading)! I now currently reside in Wadesville, IN with Matt (Brute #69) and Hank (our Bloodhound pup), where we love to trail ride on our property...all 3 of us!!
My first ATV was a Honda 125 from my parents for my 10th birthday. Actually, my older sister and I got matching ones, but mine was ‘broken in’ a lot quicker than hers. Any time my dad said yes I could ride, I was on it. I literally drove it until the wheels fell off…well it might have had something to do more with the wrecking through the dog kennel that finally made it bite the dust, but it sure was a lot of fun. Due to my lack of listening capabilities to rules and regulations at the time, my dad decided to hold off on getting me another new ATV until I was ‘mature’ enough to handle one. Finally, when I was 15, he bought ‘us’ a brand new 1995 Polaris 425 Magnum 4x4, which I still ride to this day, when I’m not the passenger on Matt’s Brute Force. Hopefully, by this spring, we’ll upgrade to a side-by-side so that Hank can go along with us on rides!
I have been a member of LCTR since May 2005 when Matt encouraged me to join. Through LCTR, I have met some wonderful people, some of which are now our good friends and/or traveling companions, and I am so thankful that I was introduced to this great club! I can’t wait to be a part of the future growth of LCTR, and I look forward to attending/participating in as many events as possible in 2008 and meeting some more of our great members!
